Economic Context

Super Fun Zone is a 29,600-square-foot indoor family entertainment center spanning Levels 3 and 4 of Studio City Macau, and its existence points to a deliberate strategic gap in the Cotai Strip’s early development: the Strip’s first generation of integrated resorts, built through the 2000s and early 2010s, were designed overwhelmingly around adult gaming and luxury retail, with little built specifically for children or multigenerational family groups. Studio City, opening in 2015 as Melco’s Hollywood-themed follow-up to City of Dreams, addressed that gap directly, and its indoor entertainment offerings — Super Fun Zone alongside the Golden Reel Ferris wheel and Warner Bros. branded attractions elsewhere in the resort — form part of the broader industry shift toward family and non-gaming revenue that Macau’s regulators have since made a formal condition of casino licensing under the 2022 concession renewals. That an indoor children’s entertainment center sits inside a licensed casino resort at all reflects Macau’s particular zoning approach: unlike jurisdictions that physically separate gaming floors from family amenities, Macau’s integrated-resort model places both under one roof, relying on internal access controls — age checks and restricted entry points — to keep the gaming floor legally and practically separate from areas like Super Fun Zone.

Zones & Layout

The facility is organized into five themed zones. Under the Sea (sometimes listed as an underwater or “Bounce-O-Matic” zone) combines a ball pit, obstacle courses, and a multi-story bounce structure with a freefall element, aimed primarily at younger children. Mountain centers on a climbing structure called Monkey Ropes, a multi-platform ropes course requiring guests to navigate a sequence of linked obstacle stations at height. Jungle (also referred to as the Forest zone) offers canopy walkways, suspension bridges, slides, and an electric-cart ride threading through the themed set. Space Station houses a laser-tag maze and arcade terminals, while Outer Space is set aside for supervised toddler play and dedicated party rooms — the venue runs three party rooms in total, reflecting birthday-party bookings as a meaningful part of its business.

Practical Information

The venue accommodates up to 500 guests at a time and includes integrated dining and parent-lounge seating, allowing accompanying adults to remain nearby without joining the physical activities. As with the resort’s other attractions, Super Fun Zone is reached via Studio City’s internal elevators and escalators from the ground-floor casino and retail concourse. The four-zone admission ticket runs MOP 180 for a child and MOP 100 for an accompanying adult, with the venue open daily from 11:00 to 19:00; children under 100 centimeters are restricted to the designated toddler zones, while select climbing structures set a 120-centimeter minimum height. The zone sits within the same climate-controlled resort envelope as the Golden Reel and Studio City Retail, making it straightforward to combine into a single family visit to the property. Families visiting with mixed age groups often split time between the climbing- and rope-based zones for older children and the ball-pit and toddler areas for younger ones, using the parent lounge as a rendezvous point between activities rather than attempting to keep the whole group together throughout. Socks are typically required for the bounce and climbing zones for hygiene and grip reasons, a standard policy across indoor trampoline and soft-play venues generally, so visitors without a pair should expect to purchase them on-site.
