At 233 meters (764 feet) high, the AJ Hackett Bungy Jump at the Macau Tower holds the Guinness World Record for the highest commercial bungy jump in the world. It is the flagship extreme activity in Macau and a major draw for thrill-seekers visiting the region.
Unlike a standard bungy jump over a natural gorge, you are jumping off the outer rim of a skyscraper in a densely populated urban area, freefalling toward the concrete base before the cord rebounds.
The Bungy Jump Experience
The jump uses a specialized guide cable system developed specifically for the Macau Tower. Because you are jumping so close to the building’s concrete shaft, the guide cables ensure you fall in a straight line and do not swing back into the structure, even in high winds. You will experience about 4 to 5 seconds of pure freefall, reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h, before the bungy cord slows you down and rebounds.

What’s included in the price?
The standard Bungy Jump package generally includes:
- The Bungy Jump itself
- Admission to the Macau Tower Observation Deck (Levels 58 and 61)
- An exclusive “Bungy Jumper” T-shirt (which you can only get by completing the jump)
- An e-certificate of completion
You can also purchase a “Full Experience” package that includes photos, high-definition video of your jump (captured from multiple angles, including a GoPro attached to your wrist), and social-media-ready clips.
SkyJump: A Less Extreme Alternative
If a head-first freefall is too intense, the SkyJump is a less extreme alternative from the same 233-meter height. Instead of a freefall and a bounce, you are attached to a wire cable and harness that keeps you in an upright, seated position.
You control the initial step off the edge, and the system controls your descent, lowering you smoothly to the ground in about 17 seconds. It’s often described as base jumping without the extreme freefall or the jolt of the rebound.

Tower Climb
For a completely different kind of endurance challenge, AJ Hackett also operates the Tower Climb. This activity takes you up rather than down. You scale 100 meters of vertical ladders inside the tower’s mast, starting from Level 61 and climbing all the way to the very top of the 338-meter antenna.
It is a demanding physical climb that takes roughly two hours to complete (round trip), and it is the only way to stand at the absolute highest point in Macau.
